Bought the 329mm for framing layout. Set the angle once, marked a whole stack of rafter cuts off the same setting, and every one came off the saw matching. That is what I wanted from it.

The 197mm lives in my apron pocket. Big enough to square a cabinet side, small enough that I actually carry it instead of leaving it on the bench like my old framing square.

Arc drafting is the part I did not expect to use and now use constantly. Laid out the curved top on a bookcase without hunting for a compass or a piece of string.

Accurate and well made. The engraved graduations are a little fine to read in poor shop light, so I keep a headlamp handy when I am working in the corner.

Aluminium, not stamped steel that bends the first time you drop it. Mine has hit the concrete twice and still reads square against my reference block.

The anti-rust finish earns its keep in my basement shop. Humidity ruined a carbon steel square down there last year and this one still looks new.

Locks the angle down solid. I set 22.5 for a mitred octagon planter and it held through all eight marks without creeping.

Sized it right on the second try and now own both. The small handles cabinet work, the large covers sheet goods. Either one on its own is a good ruler, together they cover everything I do.

Went from pencil, speed square and a protractor down to this one tool for stair stringer layout. Fewer things to set down and lose.

I teach a weekend woodworking class and bought three for the shop. Students pick up the adjustable angle faster than they do a sliding bevel, and a full term of beginner handling has not loosened them up.

Checked it against a machinist square out of curiosity and mine was off by about half a degree at 90. Fine for rough framing where I am cutting to a line anyway, but I would not trust it for joinery layout without verifying yours first. Feels like the tolerance varies unit to unit.

Marked out a whole deck frame with it. Set the angle, walked the joists, done. It replaced two tools I used to carry.

Light enough that I forget it is in my apron until I need it. The lock holds where I set it, which is all I really wanted.

The ruler itself is accurate, no complaint there — the problem was getting it. Nineteen days in transit and it turned up in a padded envelope that had split along one edge. The aluminium had picked up a slight bend near the pivot and I had to work it flat before the two arms would sit true against each other. Fine now, but posting a precision layout tool in a bag is asking for exactly this.

Laid out a set of stair stringers with it. Set the rise and run once and walked the whole board off that one setting. Came out matching top to bottom.

Squared up a face frame with it and the diagonals matched first go. That never happened with the plastic square it replaced.

Drew the curve on a cabinet valance freehand-free, straight off the arc function. No compass, no string, no cardboard template.

Still waiting on this. Ordered five weeks ago, tracking went dead at a transit hub after eleven days and has not updated since. Sent two messages about it and got no reply to either. At this point I do not know whether it is still coming or lost. Rating the delivery because that is the only part of this I have experienced.

Damp garage shop and no rust after three months. The last square I kept out there had orange spots inside a month.

Set 30 degrees for a run of mitred trim and the lock did not budge across twenty-odd cuts. That repeatability is the whole point.
