2 weeks agoThe graduations are engraved, not printed, which matters more than it sounds. My old marking gauge had the numbers wear off inside a year of shop dust. These are still crisp and I can read them under a work light.
3 weeks agoAluminium profiles are stiff, no flex when you press a scribe along them, and the extension bars open it up enough for wider panels. Dovetail marking took me a few tries to get set right, but once it is dialled in the lines are clean.
1 month agoThe zippered case is the unglamorous part I appreciate most. Small components in a tool bag disappear, and six months on I still have every piece. Knock a star only because the bag is a snug fit once everything is back in.
1 month agoLight enough that it comes to site with me but accurate enough for bench joinery, which is usually a trade-off you have to pick one side of. Scribing edge lines against a face is where I reach for it most.

Layout is where a joint is won or lost. Measure twice and mark crooked and the tenon still fights the mortise. This kit gives you a set of aluminium profiles, extension bars and locking knobs that hold a setting, so the mark lands in the same place on every piece.
